The link for the website here is a great resource for researching these. www.westernaustralia.com The Western Australian Visitor Centre also provides independent advice about accommodation as well as what is happening in and around Perth and how to get there. You can contact them on 1300 361 351 or 08 9483 1111. Alternatively, we have provided here some examples of a variety of accommodation types situated within walking distance to conference venues.
TRANSPORT: PUBLIC TRANSPORT Perth has a modern, easy to use, public transport system including buses, trains and a ferry service. And getting around the City of Perth doesn't need to cost you anything. For transport around Perth and Northbridge we suggest the free Cat Bus Service. The "CAT" (Central Area Transit) buses run in loops around three routes throughout Northbridge, central Perth and West Perth. Timetables are available at all CAT bus stops and there are brochures available at most hotels. You are at leisure to get on or off at any stop free of charge. A Free Transit Zone (FTZ) also operates within the City of Perth boundaries. You can travel on any Transperth bus or train within the boundary limits for free so long as you start and finish your journey within the limits of the FTZ. Boundaries of the FTZ are marked clearly on bus stops. If travelling outside the FTZ, you may either use a SmartRider travel card, purchase a ticket from the driver if travelling by bus, or station ticket machines if travelling by train. Wellington St Train Station (Perth's main train station) is only a short walk from the conference venue. TAXI TRAVEL Designated taxi ranks are located around the central city for safe and convenient travel. Contact details of Perth's major taxi operators are: Swan Taxis 13 1330 or book online at www.swantaxis.com.au Black & White Taxis 13 1008 Independent Taxis 9375 7777 A taxi service is available for passengers with disabilities.
