We are delighted to invite our diverse community back to Whadjuk Noongar Country in Northbridge, Boorloo/Perth, to share an inspiring line-up of workshops, presenters, exhibitions, and events. Our conference takes place at North Metropolitan TAFE, Northbridge (TBC) nestled in the heart of the Perth Cultural Precinct, with neighbours such as Art Gallery of WA, WA Museum BoolaBardip, Gallery Central and Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts. We are walking distance to the CBD and the vibrant Northbridge restaurant and retail scene, with excellent access to public transport.

Our conference theme “Involution:Making Jewellery, Creating Change” has resonated with creatives, curators and scholars from around the country, as well as around the world. Thanks to their response to our call-out, we have carefully crafted a lineup of unique and unexpected voices from diverse areas of our field. Through the workshops, presentations, and tours we are deepening skill, developing practice, and witnessing the current state and the future trajectory of our field. Amongst it all, we will also hold space to engage and celebrate with one another, as colleagues, as friends.

The schedule includes:

● Two days of presentations, with speakers from across the country as well as respected international guests, many as first time visitors to Australia.

●  Dynamic workshops running pre and post Conference.

●  A full day of studio and gallery tours with unique access tolocal jewellery artists’ studios.

●  Network opportunities encouraging connections with fellow artists and conference delegates are supported by morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea provided on the Conference days.

●  Exhibitions, including Graduate Metal 16, Identities in metal:Alister Yiap Gallery, Perth, and more, being confirmed.

Coinciding with the JMGA conference is IOTA:24, the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial. Its flagship exhibitions and festival program (over 50 exhibitions and events) will feature the best craft of the Indian Ocean region. Several of these events will be in partnership with JMGA exhibitions.

Early bird offers and day rates will be available and discounts for students and JMGA members.

Check back on the conference page in the coming months for more information on registration, timetable, speakers, exhibitions and workshops or alternaltivley contact the conference committee for any enquiries.
